Join us for The Moth’s first appearance at Omega Institute, live and in-person. The renowned storytelling nonprofit will host a weekend of events that celebrate the unique power of personal storytelling to build a community where entertainment and enlightenment merge.
A Moth Mainstage kicks off the festivities on Friday night. Live from Omega, five Moth storytellers take the stage to share a true, personal story from their life based on the evening’s theme. This special event will be helmed by a Moth host and accompanied by a musical guest.
On Saturday, you have the opportunity to learn the craft of storytelling by working directly with The Moth. You discover the key principles of Moth storytelling, and use customized prompts and exercises to gain a deeper understanding of the art and craft of storytelling.
Saturday night, it’s time for a competitive StorySLAM of select stories, where you have the opportunity to take the stage and share your own five-minute story on the night’s theme. One storyteller will emerge the winner.
The weekend closes on Sunday with Elizabeth Lesser, Omega cofounder and author of Cassandra Speaks: When Women Are the Storytellers, the Human Story Changes, in conversation with Kate Tellers, MothWorks director, host, and storyteller.
